Outside of the office Dr. Rockafellow enjoys spending time outdoors. You’ll often find him at the gym, on the golf course, or out on the water boating. He also loves discovering new restaurants and exploring all that Jacksonville has to offer.

Our doctors are not just experts; they are visionaries in the field of dental implantology. With decades of surgical and restorative experience, and a passion for pioneering research, they are at the forefront of innovation.
Dr Barros’ love of both the arts and the sciences is what drew her to dentistry. Her decision to be a dentist was reaffirmed by the opportunity she had to shadow another dentist. Since then, she knew it was the career for her.
Dr. Barros’ education and studies included an emphasis on restorative dentistry though she has also completed a residency in general dentistry.
It’s always been important to keep improving herself, something she has continued to do since she first started practicing dentistry in 2007. With her extensive experience and passion for helping others, Dr. Barros is a wonderful part of the Nuvia team in Jacksonville.
Something that Dr. Barros firmly believes is that healthcare providers need to love people above everything. This belief along with other core values is what brought her to Nuvia, a place with values that match her own.
She loves that at Nuvia she can deliver permanent teeth in 24 hours to patients. This makes it possible for them to skip months of wearing temporary teeth, a tedious step of conventional ways of providing dental implants.
In her free time Dr. Barros enjoys reading, going to the gym and hanging out with family and friends. She loves hosting Brazilian barbecues for her loved ones, hiking and being outside.
Dr. Hate grew up in a family of dentists but it wasn’t until his last year of dental school at the University of Florida that he realized he had a passion for oral surgery.
He continued his education with a residency at Tufts University in Boston. Having worked in a private practice since 2007, Dr. Hate is now an enthusiastic member of Nuvia’s Jacksonville team.
Dr. Hate reminds patients who may be nervous about the procedure that they have an experienced team of professionals that will take great care of them. From a CRNA who monitors anesthesia and the oral surgeon performing the procedure to the experienced restorative staff, each patient’s smile is in trusted hands.
When Dr. Hate isn’t working, he and his family can usually be found on the tennis courts or travelling to a tournament. As a moviebuff, Dr. Hate loves the classics. His favorites include The Godfather, John Wick, and Star Wars.
