Dr. Andrew Afshar

Dr. Andrew Afshar, a proud native of Cleveland, brings a unique blend of artistic talent and scientific curiosity to his role as an oral surgeon in Dublin. His journey into dentistry was inspired by the positive experiences he had with his own dentist and orthodontist while growing up. Being artistic himself and wanting to find a career where he could work with his hands made oral and maxillofacial surgery the perfect choice.

Dr. Afshar's academic path began at the University of Akron, where he studied as a chemical engineer and natural science major. He then attended dental school, where he decided to focus on oral and maxillofacial surgery, further honing his skills and expertise. Dr. Afshar completed his medical and surgical training at USC, followed by an additional cosmetic fellowship in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Nuvia’s mission to restore patients' smiles with permanent teeth in just 24 hours aligned perfectly with Dr. Afshar’s own goals to make a significant, positive impact in his patients' lives. The opportunity to see the immediate joy and transformation in his patients, thanks to Nuvia's unique approach, is a source of great satisfaction and excitement for him.

Outside of the Office

Outside of his being an oral surgeon, Dr. Afshar is dedicated to maintaining his physical and mental well-being by going to the gym daily. This time allows him to decompress and carve out moments for self-improvement. Dr. Afshar is also a collector of watches and retro Jordans.

Dr. Afshar's message to his patients is one of assurance and excitement: taking steps towards a restored smile with Nuvia is a step towards changing your life for the better. With his expertise, passion, and the rest of the dedicated Nuvia team in Dublin, patients can look forward to a positive, transformative experience.

Dr. Ty James, DMD

Dr. James was born in Saint Lucia and grew up in South Carolina where he was an athletic and social kid. He has always been interested in art and the medical field. It wasn’t until his senior year of college studying Biology at the University of Georgia that he realized he could pair his love of art and medicine with dentistry. A career in dentistry, and especially as a restorative dentist, would be just the way to mix these two passions. After the University of Georgia, Dr. James attended medical college in Augusta, Georgia.

During his time as a restorative dentistr, Dr. James has enjoyed serving others in other countries who have dental needs but not the means to receive treatment. He has gone on various humanitarian trips to Honduras, Nicaragua, Brazil, and India to do dental work for those in need.

Why Nuvia

Dr James was drawn towards Nuvia’s innovative process of restoring smiles through dental implants. Prior to Nuvia he had done full mouth restoration dentistry for many years. Having seen first hand the traditional method of doing dental implants and how long that can take, he loves that he can now help patients receive permanent teeth in 24 hours instead of waiting what may be 10+ months before getting them. You can now find Dr James at Nuvia’s Atlanta clinic, changing lives as a restorative dentist.

Giving patients brand new smiles in 24 hours is very fulfilling for Dr. James. His personal philosophy is, “The more you smile, the better the world becomes''. He is committed to giving patients the best care and providing them with smiles that they love and can confidently share.

To those considering working with Nuvia, Dr James says, “We want you to look good, we want you to feel good”. Dr. James and everyone at the Atlanta office is dedicated to making sure every patient leaves feeling comfortable at Nuvia and confident with their new smile.

What to Expect From Permanent Teeth in 24 Hours

For years, getting dental implants meant waiting months in temporary teeth before the final set was ready. Not anymore.‍

At Nuvia Dental Implant Center in Atlanta, patients walk in for surgery and walk out 24 hours later with their permanent zirconia teeth—no long waits, no unnecessary steps.

Here’s what the process looks like:

  • Consultation & 3D Scan – Your team in Atlanta evaluates your bone structure and health to confirm candidacy
  • Smile Design– Your new teeth are designed to fit your features and preferences
  • Procedure Day – You’re comfortably asleep while your dental implants are placed. A CRNA and an oral surgeon certified in anesthesia are both keeping you safe and comfortable.
  • 24 Hours Later – You return to receive your final zirconia teeth that were created overnight in Nuvia’s in-house lab.

You can expect a team of highly experienced providers—including an oral surgeon, restorative dentist, and CRNA—handling every case.

For those in Fair Oaks, Oak Grove, or anywhere near Atlanta, a new smile is closer than you think. And with permanent teeth in 24 hours, there’s no reason to wait. Take the 60-second quiz to see if you may be a candidate for full mouth dental implants.

Break the Cycle of Repairs and Adjustments

Dentures can slip, require adhesives, and need frequent adjustments—and over time, the cost and frustration often build. Full mouth dental implants offer instead a permanent solution to missing and failing teeth. They can help patients leave the cycle of repairs and frustration behind and give them something that feels secure, lasting, and natural.

Dental Implant FAQs in Atlanta

Does dental insurance cover dental implants?
It’s very unlikely for an insurance plan to cover dental implants in full. Sometimes portions of single implant treatment can be covered but plans vary and are often limited. Patients in the Atlanta area often explore financing options to make treatment affordable.

What if I don’t like how my new teeth look or feel?
With over 50,000 5-star reviews, it’s uncommon for patients to be unsatisfied with their smile, but if something doesn’t feel right, your care team will work with you to make adjustments and find a solution that feels comfortable and looks natural.

What should I expect after surgery?
Some swelling and soreness are normal in the first few days, and your team will guide you through recovery so you know what’s typical and how to stay comfortable. Most patients report that any discomfort was easily manageable with over the counter pain medicine. Your care team will make sure you are equipped for recovery.

Do I get to choose what my new teeth look like?
Yes—your smile is customized to you, and you’ll review different shape and color options ahead of time to choose a look that fits your face and preferences.

How long does it take to get used to dental implants?
Most patients adjust fairly quickly, though it can take a little time to get used to the feel of your new teeth especially if you are not used to having a full set of teeth.
