Meet Your Doctors in San Diego

Full mouth dental implants are too complex to be treated like a routine dental appointment and deserve the attention and care of highly experienced providers. At Nuvia in San Diego, your care is handled by a team that includes an oral surgeon, an implant dentist, and a CRNA—each focused on a different part of the process.

That matters more than most people realize. Having experts handle surgery, anesthesia, and designing the final teeth all contribute to Nuvia’s {{success_rate}} dental implant success rate.

Dr. Ailar Bagherdaei, DDS

Dr. Ailar Bagherdaei is a restorative dentist at Nuvia Dental Implant Center in San Diego, CA. She grew up in Southern California and completed her undergraduate studies at UC Irvine. She earned her dental degree from the University of Michigan and then went on to complete her prosthodontic residency and fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Bagherdaei has been practicing for about 10 years, including time in Denver where she treated a wide range of complex cases.

She chose dentistry because she liked how quickly she could help patients. Sitting chairside, she could see changes happen in real time. That led her into prosthodontics, where she works on full-mouth rehabilitation and rebuilding smiles from the ground up.

Why Nuvia

Dr. Bagherdaei joined Nuvia because the process helps patients get their smiles back very efficiently. Patients don’t go through months of temporary teeth or repeated visits. With teeth in 24 hours, they leave with a fixed, permanent teeth the very next morning after surgery.

She also appreciates how the team is structured at Nuvia. Each person has a role, from lab to surgery to restoration, and everything is coordinated ahead of time. That helps cases stay on track and keeps the experience smooth for patients.

Lastly, she has worked with many materials over the years and prefers zirconia (which is what Nuvia uses) for full mouth restoration cases. It holds up better and doesn’t run into the same issues as temporary dentures during healing.

Outside of the Office

Outside of work, Dr. Bagherdaei spends most of her time with her family. She has two young children and enjoys cooking, watching movies, and being outdoors with them.

That early experience shaped her deep passion for patient care and set her on the path to becoming a dentist herself.

Why Nuvia

As someone who is incredibly patient focused, Dr. Murtha loves that she can provide patients with their permanent teeth in 24 hours, a starkly different method to traditional methods that have patients waiting for what could be up to 10+ months for their permanent teeth.

Outside of the Office

Dr. Murtha loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. Together they love going on hikes, visiting waterfalls, or cooking.

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost

The real question isn’t just how much dental implants cost—it’s how much living with missing teeth is already costing you.

  • The cost of avoiding certain foods because chewing is painful.
  • The cost of frequent dental visits to patch failing teeth.
  • The cost of confidence and holding back from smiling.

While traditional solutions like dentures may seem cheaper upfront, they come with ongoing maintenance, replacements, adhesives, and adjustments that can end up costing a lot over time.

On the other hand, a full set of dental implants is a one-time investment in a permanent solution—one that won’t slip, break, or need constant repairs.

Finally, Stop Thinking About Your Teeth All the Time

Most people who end up looking into All-on-4® dental implants have been dealing with dental problems for years. It’s the constant repairs, avoiding certain foods, wondering when something’s going to hurt or break again. After a while, it can take up more mental space than you realize.

That’s the part a lot of patients around San Diego say changes the most. Once their teeth feel solid again, they stop thinking about them all day. They eat what they want, talk without second-guessing it, and stop planning their life around dental problems.

And after years of temporary fixes, that kind of relief can feel a lot bigger than just a new smile.

What to Expect From Life After Dental Implants in San Diego

Anyone living with missing or failing teeth could tell you it isn’t just inconvenient—it affects everything. Smiling, eating, and even speaking can feel like a daily struggle. But with permanent teeth in 24 hours, life can look completely different.

That’s what a lot of patients around San Diego notice after All-on-4® dental implants. Whether they’re grabbing dinner in Chula Vista, spending time in Solana Beach, or just going through their normal routine, they’re not constantly working around their teeth anymore.

If you’ve spent years hiding your smile or avoiding certain foods, it doesn’t have to be that way anymore. See if you may be a candidate for full mouth dental implants with this 60-second quiz.

A Permanent Solution

Dentures can feel overwhelming—adhesives, adjustments, relines, replacements, and always thinking about whether they’re going to move or bother you. And over time, all those appointments and fixes can add up in cost too.

Full mouth dental implants are different. They’re fixed in place, so you’re not taking them out at night or planning your day around them. A lot of patients choose implants because they’re tired of temporary solutions and want something that actually feels stable long-term.

Why Do People Prefer Dental Implants Over Dentures?

For most people, it comes down to freedom. Dental implants don’t slip, don’t require adhesives, and don’t come out. Once healed, many patients say they can eat more comfortably, talk more naturally, and stop thinking about their teeth all the time.

Dental Implant FAQs in San Diego

What should I expect during my first dental implant consultation?

Your first visit usually includes a 3D scan, a review of your dental health, and a conversation about whether you may be a candidate for full mouth dental implants. It’s also your chance to ask questions and after going over a treatment plan tailored for your situation, you’ll see what your investment will be and what payment plan options are available. No commitments required, just a chance to get all the information you need specific to your teeth.

What are the best resources for dental implant questions?

Nuvia’s blog is one of the best resources for dental implants to start with. It includes educational articles, FAQs, real patient stories, recovery information, and answers to common questions about dental implants and permanent teeth in 24 hours.

I want to know if dental implants feel different from natural teeth

Most patients say dental implants feel surprisingly natural once they’ve adjusted to them. Because they’re fixed in place, they tend to feel much more stable than dentures or temporary teeth.

What can you eat with dental implants

After healing, many patients are able to eat foods they had been avoiding for years. During recovery you’ll stick to softer foods at first, but once your provider clears you, you can usually return to a much more normal diet without any restrictions from failing/missing teeth.
