Meet Dr. Jennifer Jacobson, DDS, one of Nuvia’s experienced Restorative Doctors at the Fresno, CA clinic.

About
Dr. Jennifer Jacobson is a restorative dentist at Nuvia Dental Implant Center in Fresno, CA. She has worked in dentistry for over 15 years, starting as a dental assistant before going to dental school. She earned her degree from Touro College of Dental Medicine and completed a prosthodontic residency at Stony Brook University. She later taught at Rutgers University.
Dr. Jacobson is passionate about full mouth restoration cases. She works side-by-side with the surgeon to plan each state of each case including bite, tooth shape, and how everything fits together. Her goal is to give patients teeth that function, feel stable and look natural.
Dr. Jacobson chose Nuvia because the team stays focused on the patient. Each case is planned as a group, so nothing gets missed.
She also loves to offer patients permanent teeth in 24 hours. Outside of Nuvia, patients can spend months in temporary teeth that are prone to breaking or needing repairs. At Nuvia, patients get a final set of teeth without waiting for months.
Dr. Jacobson recognizes that many patients are nervous and wants to reassure those that come in that she always takes time to answer questions so patients know what’s happening at each step.
Dr. Jacobson enjoys cooking, especially baking sourdough bread. She’s been cooking since she was a kid and likes trying recipes from different cultures. She also skis with her husband and spends time in the mountains when she can.

Our doctors are not just experts; they are visionaries in the field of dental implantology. With decades of surgical and restorative experience, and a passion for pioneering research, they are at the forefront of innovation.
Dr. Derek Tow is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Nuvia Dental Implant Center in Fresno, CA. He trained at the University of Connecticut, where he completed both medical school and a six-year oral surgery residency.
He grew up in the Bay Area and has always loved working with his hands. As a kid, he played guitar and piano and even toured in a metal band. That carried over into his career as he was drawn to dentistry because it let him combine technical skill with hands-on work. He later moved into oral surgery after seeing how much it helped patients in a short amount of time.
Dr. Tow chose Nuvia because of how structured everything is for both patients and providers. Working with a team that also includes a restorative dentist and CRNA allows him to provide a great patient experience with extra levels of safety.
He also appreciates being part of the permanent teeth in 24 hours process. Patients don’t wait months to start enjoying their new smile. They get permanent, customized teeth they can use just 24 hours after surgery.
He’s seen how much that matters. One of his first full-arch cases ended with the patient breaking down in tears after getting their new teeth. The whole room felt it.
Outside of work, Dr. Tow still plays music when he can. He spent years in a touring band and still enjoys picking up the guitar.

Dr. Christensen Hsu is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Nuvia Dental Implant Center in Fresno, CA. She graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1997 and completed her oral and maxillofacial surgery training in the U.S. Army, where she went on to serve more than 20 years on active duty caring for service members.
Dr. Hsu grew up as a Navy family kid, mostly in San Diego, and was exposed to healthcare early through her father, who served as a hospital corpsman in the Navy. That upbringing shaped her interest in patient care and led her to a career where she could make a meaningful difference in people’s quality of life.
Dr. Hsu chose Nuvia for its culture and its vision of compassionate, team-based care. She believes in the “one team, one patient” approach and the shared core values that guide every step of the process.
She also values Nuvia’s permanent teeth in 24 hours model. Patients don’t have to navigate a long intermediate phase with a temporary that could break while they wait—they receive a durable, permanent set of teeth in 24 hours. For Dr. Hsu, that’s a game-changer for the patients she serves.
Outside of work, Dr. Hsu is an advocate for the arts and enjoys design and visiting museums with her family. She’s also a lover of nature and spends time hiking with her family, often taking advantage of Fresno’s proximity to Yosemite.
