View LocationMeet Dr. Mary Lou Murtha, one of Nuvia’s exceptional restorative dentists at the Encino, CA clinic.

About
Dr. Mary Lou Murtha was inspired to pursue dentistry by her mother, who was also a dentist. Growing up in the Philippines, Dr. Murtha has fond memories of patients visiting their family home for treatment—and always leaving with a smile. That early experience shaped her deep passion for patient care and set her on the path to becoming a dentist herself.
Dr. Murtha had looked into many other dental offices but it wasn’t until she came across Nuvia in Encino that she felt she had found somewhere that had core values that aligned with her own.
As someone who is incredibly patient focused, Dr. Murtha loves that she can provide patients with their permanent teeth in 24 hours, a starkly different method to traditional methods that have patients waiting for what could be up to 10+ months for their permanent teeth.
Dr. Murtha loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. Together they love going on hikes, visiting waterfalls, or cooking.

Dr. Richard Che is a restorative dentist at the Nuvia Dental Implant Center in Encino, California.
Growing up in Los Angeles, he went to both college and dental school at UCLA before deciding to pursue further education and focus on prosthodontics at UCSF.
Dr. Che is passionate about prosthodontics because it allows him to help patients suffering from extensive dental issues and restore the smiles of those who have lost them.
His favorite dental procedure is making permanent teeth in 24 hours, which he gets to do at Nuvia every day.
In his spare time, Dr. Che loves singing, gaming, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
Before Dr. Medina was an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, he worked at some law firms where he would often encounter people who had experienced traumatic events. He knew that he wanted his future career to be helping those who have experienced something difficult.
This experience paired with his talent as an artist is what led him to choose oral & maxillofacial surgery.
After graduating dental school and completing his oral & maxillofacial residency he spent a year working with oral cancer patients helping with full mouth reconstructions. This period of his career as an oral & maxillofacial surgeon eventually led him to join Nuvia in Encino where he could treat patients needing full mouth dental implants each day.
Dr. Medina has a ton of hobbies. He loves many sports such as basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and golf. He is also an artist and enjoys graphite sketching. He also enjoys teaching martial arts and playing guitar.
