His interests in medicine and oral surgery took him to Southern California, where he received his medical degree (MD) from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He then completed an internship in General Surgery with a focus on surgical oncology, trauma surgery, and critical care. Following this, Dr. Breig returned to dentistry to refine his skills in full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including complex dental extractions, dental implant surgery, and general anesthesia. During his final year of training, he served as Chief Resident under nationally renowned surgeons.
After his rigorous training, Dr. Breig joined the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Santa Clara as a Senior Physician in the Maxillofacial Surgery Department, specializing in reconstructive jaw surgery. At Stanford University School of Medicine, he held an academic appointment and actively trained residents in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During this time, he achieved diplomate status with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Fellow status with the American College of Surgeons.
